Towards Monitoring Waterlogging with Remote Sensing for Sustainable Irrigated Agriculture

چکیده
Waterlogging is an increasingly important issue in irrigated agriculture that has a detrimental impact on crop productivity. The above-ground effect of waterlogging crops hard to distinguish from water deficit stress with remote sensing, as responses such stomatal closure and leaf wilting occur both situations. Currently, source not considered sensing-based evaporation algorithms this may therefore lead erroneous interpretation for irrigation scheduling. Monitoring can improve models assist management. In addition, frequent spatial information will provide agriculturalists land trafficability, drainage design, choice. This article provides scientific perspective the topic by consulting literature disciplines agronomy, hydrology, sensing. We find solution monitor lies multi-sensor approach. Future routes should focus monitoring combining sensing ancillary data. Here, parameters deduced high resolution Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) play crucial role. proposed approaches prevent agriculture.

متن کاملLow Cost UAV-based Remote Sensing for Autonomous Wildlife Monitoring
In recent years, developments in unmanned aerial vehicles, lightweight on-board computers, and low-cost thermal imaging sensors offer a new opportunity for wildlife monitoring. In contrast with traditional methods now surveying endangered species to obtain population and location has become more cost-effective and least time-consuming. In this paper, a low-cost UAV-based remote sensing platform...
متن کاملApplication of a Remote Sensing Method for Estimating Monthly Blue Water Evapotranspiration in Irrigated Agriculture
In this paper we show the potential of combining actual evapotranspiration (ETactual) series obtained from remote sensing and land surface modelling, to monitor community practice in irrigation at a monthly scale. This study estimates blue water evapotranspiration (ETb) in irrigated agriculture in two study areas: the Horn of Africa (2010–2012) and the province of Sichuan (China) (2001–2010). B...
متن کاملRemote sensing for irrigated agriculture: examples from research and possible applications
Researchers in various international programs have studied the potential use of remotely sensed data to obtain accurate information on land surface processes and conditions. These studies have demonstrated that quantitative assessment of the soil-vegetation-atmosphere-transfer processes can lead to a better understanding of the relationships between crop growth and water management. Information...
